It’s possible to simplify the creative process.

The complexity of the use of our creativity in projects and in life is also a our creation.

In the complex environment that we live in nowadays, life seems more demanding than ever before about what we need to be aware of to be able to create what we want or need, minimally.

It can be in any personal or professional project, creativity is an essential item. If it is for a competitive market or the human survival in this Earth, we have to take our creations to the next level of innovation!

Did I just go too far now?

Let’s go back a few steps…
breath…
and remember that ideas can be complex, but action from them can be simple.

Art in black China ink in white paper. A black spot is on the left superior corner and generates lines that seems like tentacles, both thick and narrow, and goes on the opposite directions of the paper. One of the tentacles bends and goes upward in the middle of the page. Short lines misshapen horizontally occupate the 1/3 right part of the page.

To simplify is to go back again and again to what is essential. The eight elements of Creative Consciousness take us to simple actions from what is most challenging and complex in the creation and innovation process.

self-awareness
relational intelligence
courage
sense of connection
interdependence
intuition
true innovation
faith

Does this seem even more complex? Before I explain it step by step, I am going already to sum up in a simple and direct way. The key to simplicity in the creative process lives inside. It’s our emotions.

Creative Consciousness is a way to go straight to the source of our in/capacity to create and innovate: our mind, where our emotions are created and our behaviors are influenced.

Through expanding our emotional repertoire, observing and knowing the stories stored in our minds. So simplify is about to remember that we are frequently reacting to the past, and not necessarily to the data and facts that are in front of us in the present.

For sure that new and different situations that can generate feelings and reactions similar and not connected to what has happened before, or generate other traumas not associated to what we have lived before. But, most of the time, it is about an automatic access to and old known repertoire of our body-mind-spirit. And we react with no consciousness, instead of acting with consciousness of our internal continuous processes.

The curly hair in black lining fills 2/3 of the page, going through the face. Between the hair strands, the colors appears.

There’s no way to generate consciousness without making an effort, some times and some issues, for our whole life. But to generate consciousness is simple, it’s by mere observation. To stop and observe. Ourselves, other people, circumstances, environment, patterns of behavior of beings and things…

Coming from the principle of exercising the capacity of observation, I am going to expand a little on what I mean about the eight items I highlighted when I am talking about Creative Consciousness.

self-awareness: observe the movements of emotions inside and their influences in our behaviors on the creative process, and the influence of external stimuli in our movements of emotions inside.

relational intelligence: observe the movements of emotions outside on people in the creative process and their influences on our own movements of emotions inside and behaviors, and the consequent influence on people’s behaviors.

courage: observe a discomfort surge in the creative process and choose act with consciousness and vulnerability from it.

sense of connection: observe the movements of connection and disconnection and regeneration on our relationships inside the creative process, and these generating an aspiration of deepening these relationships from the creative process and in favor of it.

interdependence: observe the fact that all beings and things are connected with each other, and depend on each other in an autonomic way to exist, inside the creative process and beyond.

intuition: observe the generation of ideas and thoughts in our mind and feelings in our body while in the creative process, as a phenomena that goes far beyond our consciousness, control, rationalization.

true innovation: observe the movements of creating meaning in our own lives starting from the creative process, rooted on the intention of benefiting the most beings possible.

faith: simply observing the mystery of the creative process and of life manifest itself.

That is what Creative Consciousness is about: expanding and enriching our inner universe for it to reverberate in the exterior world, and vice-versa. To create is not only about what you do, it is about what you don’t do too, it is also about the meaning you create for your life from your creations. It is about what others do, and what they don’t do from what you created and what this creation reverberate in the world.

Now, stop and observe: what this essay and all that was already there just before you begin to read it generated as emotions and behaviors in you? And what theses emotions are able to generate in the rest of your day, or even your life, from now on? What if you share with me or someone you know the emotions or actions that were generated from the stimuli of this essay, what’s the reverberation of it?
